Harris leads Storm at Grinnell

GRINNELL, Iowa -- Alyssa Harris had a pair of eighth-place finishes to lead the Simpson women's swimming and diving team at Grinnell's Pioneer Classic, which concluded Saturday.

The Storm scored 255 points to place sixth of 10 teams at the two-day invitational, which began Friday. Gustavus Adolphus won the meet with 1,775.5 points.

Meet Highlights
Harris was the Storm's top individual performer, placing eighth in both the 200 butterfly and the 400 IM while placing 12th in the 200 IM. She finished the 200 butterfly in 2:29.73, the 400 IM in 5:09.44 and the 200 IM in 2:23.25.

Madison DePover had a top-10 finish, swimming a career-best 20:35.17 to place ninth in the 1650 freestyle. She added a 14th-place finish in the 100 breaststroke, swimming a career-best 1:16.61 for the Storm's fastest time in the event this season.

Naomi Olsgaard turned in the other top-10 finish, placing ninth in the 1-meter diving competition with 304.40 points.

The Storm swam season-best times in the 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay and the 400-medley relay. The team of Brenna Yeutsy, Cheyenne Wiederholt, Harris and Sarah Prendergast placed 15th in the 200 freestyle relay (1:50.75), the team of Prendergast, Cassie Bergman, DePover and Yeutsy placed 12th in the 400 freestyle relay (4:05.91) and the team of Wiederholt, DePover, Harris and Bergman placed 15th in the 400 medley relay (4:37.88).
