Olsgaard breaks diving record, Harris wins two events against NWU

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Naomi Olsgaard broke her own school diving record and freshman Alyssa Harris won a pair of events to lead the Simpson women's swimming and diving team at the season-opening dual with Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday.

The Prairie Wolves won the dual 119-76.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS

• Olsgaard earned a score of 177.10 in the 1-meter diving (six attempts), breaking her record of 170.40.
• Harris enjoyed a great collegiate debut, winning the 100 butterfly and the 200 IM. She touched the wall in 1:06.77 in the 100 butterfly and finished the 200 IM in 2:25.73.

"I was very pleased with the results today. Our swimmers swam very hard and had some excellent first meet results. This meet does show us that we have a long way to go in our training, but I believe we're up for the challenge."
