INDIANOLA, Iowa – In their inaugural dual meet at the Indianola YMCA, the Simpson men's and women's swimming teams made waves as Simpson's trio of super sophomores Kyle McKimJames Tillison and Mackenzie Carson earned themselves wins despite falling to Loras on both the men's and women's side by the score of 154-68 and 156-28, respectively.

Simpson's Kyle McKim notched his first win of the night in the men's 200 yard individual medley (2:17.10) and he would complete the daily double by bringing home the men's 100-yard breaststroke title (1:05.40) as well. Tillison (11:27.56) would garner the Storm's third triumph of the night as he took home the title convincingly in the men's 1000-yard freestyle over fellow teammate Zack Lindeberg (12:26.92).

In a similar manner Mackenzie Carson (140.78) earned a win in the 1m women's diving competition after beating out fellow teammate Steph Lash (113.10).

Despite fielding a young and relatively inexperienced team first year head coach Tom Caccia was happy with the way things turned out.

"I was just really impressed with the whole team and how we stuck together, we really swam hard," Caccia said. "We had some times we weren't expecting … we're just trying to get better and we're doing that."

The Simpson men's and women's swimming teams jump back into action at the Grinnell Pioneer Classic in a two-day affair, December 6-7.
