Storm close encouraging 2018 season against Coe

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Coe got on the board early and the Simpson women's soccer team couldn't battle back in a 3-0 loss in the regular season finale Tuesday night at Buxton Stadium.

The Storm close the season 4-12 overall and 2-6 in the American Rivers Conference. Coe is now 10-7-1 and 3-5 in the league, earning the sixth and final spot in the conference tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Ashlyn Moos scored the game's first goal on a cross from 5 yards out just over 2 minutes in. Sydney Schroder went far post from 25 yards out to make it 2-0 in the 16th minute and Shalyn Kinney tacked on a third goal in the 73rd minute.

Cassidy Price gave Simpson its best chance, putting a shot on frame in the 33rd minute.

  • Zoe Seiler made nine saves in the final game of her career. She closes her four seasons with 198, good for fourth in school history.
  • The Storm said goodbye to seniors Seiler, Mackenzie Finnegan and Caitlyn Berkey.
