Reisen, Marquez named honorable mention all-conference

INDIANOLA, Iowa — Senior defender Casey Reisen and sophomore forward Dani Marquez represented the Simpson women's soccer team on the 2017 All-Iowa Conference Team, as voted on by the league's nine head coaches.

A forward for the first three years of her career, Reisen made the move to defender in 2017. The Dubuque, Iowa native made a seamless transition and became the Storm's top back line player throughout the season. She registered one goal on the year, closing her career with 10 to go along with three assists.

A part-time starter as a rookie, Marquez factored into Simpson's attack more prominently in 2017. The Denver, Colo. native tied for the team lead with three goals, adding a pair of assists for eight points. Her best game of the season came in an 8-0 rout of Iowa Wesleyan on Oct. 2 when she scored two goals and handed out two assists.
