Storm fall to Wartburg on Senior Day

INDIANOLA, Iowa — Morgan Nuendorf scored a goal and assisted on another as Warburg handed the Simpson women's soccer team a 4-0 loss in the home finale on Sunday.

The game was originally scheduled to be played Saturday but was postponed due to inclement weather.

Zoe Seiler and Riley Adams combined to make 14 saves in goal, splitting time in net for the Storm (4-13, 1-6 Iowa Conference) on Senior Day. Seiler made six saves in the first half and Adams snagged eight in the second.

Jillian Huser put Wartburg on the board in the 25th minute, bending in a corner kick far post. Neuendorf set up the second goal, feeding Alyssa Christopher in the 30th minute to give the Knights (10-4-3, 4-1-3) a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Neuendorf and Megan Cowherd scored second-half goals for Wartburg, which held a 27-4 edge in shots.

Aimee Shrock put a free kick on frame in the 69th minute for the Storm as Beth Crow made her only save of the afternoon.
