Lankford named honorable mention all-conference

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Simpson's Megan Lankford earned an honorable mention nod to the 2016 All-Iowa Conference Women's Soccer Team, as announced by the league office.

A senior defender from Kansas City, Mo., Lankford was the top defender for the Storm, scoring one goal from the back line. She closed her two-year soccer career with two goals and one assist after joining the team as a junior in 2015. 

Lankford was the lone postseason honoree for the Storm, who went 3-11-3 overall and 2-6 in the Iowa Conference. Simpson and second-year head coach Jill Serafino built momentum for 2017 by winning 2 of 3 to close the season.
