WAVERLY, Iowa — The Simpson women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to Wartburg in the Iowa Conference opener for both teams Saturday.
Goalkeeper Zoe Seiler made 14 saves -- three shy of tying a school record -- as the Simpson defense was under fire, facing 28 shots from Wartburg.
Despite the pressure, the Storm (1-6-2, 0-1-0) didn't surrender a goal until the 41st minute. Alyssa Heweitt and Morgan Neuendorf added second half goals for the Knights (5-2-1, 1-0-0).
