Women's soccer falls to Westminster

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Adrienne Ebersole scored her first two goals of the season for Westminster (Mo.) and the Blue Jays' strong defense held the Simpson women's soccer team scoreless in a 4-0 loss on Saturday.

The Blue Jays (2-4-0), fresh from a loss to Central on Friday night, came out strong in the first half. Ebersole scored her goals in the 8th and 38th minutes, with Gracie Koonce scoring on a breakaway in the 16th minute. The last goal was scored by Paige Townsend in the 81st minute.

The Storm (1-4-2) were held to 12 shots, with six saved by the goalie duo of Ellen Woolsey and Sarah Cradick. Riley Adams also recorded six saves for Simpson. Maddie Thomas, Meredith Harrison, and Megan Lankford each took two shots for the Storm.

Up next: Simpson travels to Galesburg, Ill. to face Knox College on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 5 pm.
