Simpson slowed down at Nebraska Wesleyan

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves bookended Wednesday's game with goals in the 8th and 88th minutes as the Simpson women's soccer team was shut out 2-0.

The loss snapped the Storm's chances at their first three-game winning streak since notching five straight in 2012.

Nebraska Wesleyan's Katelin Blosser gave the Prairie Wolves the 1-0 lead, scoring off a rebound to notch her fourth goal of the season.

The Storm (2-3) defense tightened things up for much of the rest of the game before Laurel Heskett made it 2-0 upon netting a penalty kick in garbage time.

Simpson was held in check offensively, only mustering up two shots on goal after scoring three goals in each of its last two games.

Kristin Riley played all 90 minutes in goal, making five saves on seven Nebraska Wesleyan (3-2) shots on goal.
