Women's soccer doesn't have enough against Loras

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Katie Truesdale scored twice for Loras and the Simpson offense had trouble generating chances as the Duhawks earned a 5-0 win Saturday afternoon.

Both of Truesdale's goals came from 30 yards out, the second coming on a free kick as Loras (8-6, 3-1 Iowa Conference) won for the fourth time in five tries.

Simpson's defense was put under for a majority of the afternoon, as Loras generated 19 shots and 11 shots on goal.

Kristin Riley made five saves and Bailey Wilmes took the lone shot of the day for the Storm (2-12-1, 0-3-1).

Truesdale scored the first goal of the game, connecting from 30 yards out in the seventh minute. Ailish Rispin and Hanna Burgmeier added first-half goals, giving Loras a 3-0 lead at intermission.

Truesdale added her second goal in the 49th minute and the final tally came on an own goal in the 57th minute.

Simpson is off until next Saturday, Oct. 18 when it travels to Coe for a 1 p.m. kickoff. The Kohawks (7-6, 2-2) beat Wartburg 3-nil on Saturday.
