Women's soccer tripped up at St. Kate's

ST. PAUL, Minn. - A short-handed Simpson women's soccer team didn't have enough gas for 90 minutes on Wednesday.

After a competitive first half, St. Catherine posted three goals in the second for a 4-0 win over Simpson on Wednesday.

The Storm (2-11-1) used just 14 players during the game. St. Catherine used 16 substitutes alone.

Grace Lowry scored what turned out to be the game-winner in the 16th minute. Nina Bukowski (50'), Ellen Kokes (57') and Anna Pedersen (76') all tacked on second half goals for the Wildcats (4-6-1).

Kristin Riley made four saves and Bailey Sipfle, Kate Morford and Heather Adolph all put a shot on goal.

Simpson returns home to face Loras on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. The Duhawks (7-6, 2-1 Iowa Conference) beat Buena Vista 6-0 on Oct. 4.
