Women's soccer drops non-conference contest at Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT, Wis. - After battling to scoreless first half, the Simpson women's soccer team conceded a pair of second-half goals in a 2-0 loss at Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Wednesday.

Kristin Riley made nine saves in goal for the Storm (2-8), who saw their winning streak end at two games.

Kelsey Schneider opened the scoring in the 55th minute and Sarah Vitale provided an insurance tally in the 65th for the Pointers (3-6).

Simpson opens Iowa Conference play Saturday when Wartburg visits Buxton Stadium. The Knights (4-2-2) have won two in a row, including a 3-0 shutout at Grinnell on Sept. 21.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
