Storm drop three at IIAC Duals

DECORAH, Iowa – The Simpson wrestling team faced some of the nation's top teams in the Decorah location of the Iowa Conference Duals, falling to No. 24 Luther 57-0, No. 12 Coe 46-6 and Loras 39-7.

After a tough outing against Luther to start the day, freshman Jason Clark (149) got Simpson on the board against Coe, pinning Josh Donkle in 7:28. Clark had a near miss in the Loras dual, falling to Greg Vance 10-8.

The Storm (1-12, 0-6) did get wins from Cory Stratton (165) and Taylor Witzel (184) against the Duhawks. Stratton earned a 9-3 decision over Joe Butler and Witzel handled Mathias Palmershein by a 15-3 major decision.

Simpson hosts Central in the final home dual of the season on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
