Bergeson leads Storm to 7th at Ashford
RIVERSIDE, Iowa – Stacy Bergeson shot a team-best 174 and the Simpson women's golf team placed seventh of ten teams at the Ashford Invitational, held Friday and Saturday, April 5-6 at Blue Ridge Golf Course.
The Storm shot 727 as a team, ahead of Carroll – Wis. (755), AIB (799) and Culver-Stockton (815). Bethel (Ind.) won the tournament with a 650 score, followed by William Penn (668) and Grand View (669).
Bergeson shot an 85 on Friday and came back with an 89 on Saturday, finishing at 174 and tied for 17th.
Jessica Lerdal had the low round of the tournament, firing an 82 on day one before closing the weekend with a 98, giving her a two-round total of 180 to place 26th.
Jennifer Gaffney (84-97-181) tied for 27th, Kiley Wermersen (94-98-192) placed 35th, Molly Hill (95-98-193) took 36th and Jamie Knock (103-102-205) came in 42nd.
