Gaffney named IIAC Golfer of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson golfer Jennifer Gaffney earned Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, Sept. 2, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Gaffney, a senior from Dallas Center, Iowa, captured medalist honors at the Buena Vista Fall Invitational via a tiebreaker over Central's Taylor Hill. Gaffney shot a final-round 79 to overcome a 4-stroke deficit, rallying from a 4-over start on Saturday's front nine to close at 1-over on the back. Gaffney finished the weekend with four birdies.

Gaffney and the women's golf team will be in action this weekend at the Central Invitational, held Sept. 7-8 at Bos Landen Golf Course.
