Storm come back from 16 down to beat Grand View

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Noreen Morrow had a 16-point, 13-rebound double-double and the Simpson women's basketball team came back from 16 points down to beat Grand View 75-67 on Tuesday night.

Janey Botkins hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:58 to play in the third and the Storm (2-1) led the rest of the way to win their second game in a row and third straight in the series.

Jenna Taylor added 11 points and Claire Johnson and Ellen Gallagher added 10 apiece for Simpson. Botkins finished with nine points off the bench, going 2-for-6 from beyond the arc.

Bailee Arnburg scored 13 points to lead the Vikings (3-4).

Key Moments
Grand View built a 35-19 lead on an Arnburg free throw with 2:51 left in the second quarter. Simpson responded with an 11-3 run to close the half sparked by a 3-pointer by Botkins and capped by a bucket by Morrow in the final seconds.

Down 38-30 at halftime, the Storm opened the second on an 8-0 run, getting all eight from Maddie Simmons to tie the game. Simmons hit a pair of 3s to complete the comeback.

Taylor scored to give Simpson a 61-57 lead with 4:31 to play, then Rachel Freland hit a clutch jumper to put Simpson up 63-57 with 3:32 to play. The Storm went 10-for-14 from the free throw line down the stretch to seal the win.

- Simpson improved to 17-17 all-time against Grand View, winning the third-straight in the series.
- Noreen Morrow posted her 16th career double-double. She had nine last season and six in 2015-16.
- Simpson won despite committing 31 turnovers, the most by the team since turning it over 33 times in a 77-74 loss to Robert Morris-Springfield on Dec. 7, 2013.
