DECORAH, Iowa — The Simpson women's basketball team suffered a 102-66 setback Wednesday night at the Regents Center.
Noreen Morrow scored 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds for the Storm (1-6, 0-2 Iowa Conference), who dropped their sixth game in a row. Amarissa Raley had nine points and Megan Lankford added eight.
Laura Hamilton scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures for the Norse (5-3, 3-0), who won their fifth straight. Sara Holtz scored nine points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Luther shot better than 52 percent from the field and outrebounded Simpson 49-28.
With the score tied 10-10 midway through the first quarter, Luther mounted a 12-5 run to take a 22-15 lead. The lead grew to 20 points thanks to a 17-3 run in the second quarter in which the Storm went 3:18 without a field goal.
Simpson managed just 36.2 percent shooting from the field and never led.
