Women’s basketball picked fifth in IIAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Simpson women's basketball team has been picked fifth in the Iowa Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, as voted on by the league's nine head coaches. The Storm picked up 36 points in the poll.

IIAC Season Preview

The Storm went 15-11 overall and 8-6 in the Iowa Conference to finish tied for fourth in the league in 2015-16. Simpson comes into the season with a streak of 19-straight winning season under 30th-year head coach Brian Niemuth, the winningest coach in league history.

Simpson returns eight letterwinners and two starters from last year's team, including Second Team All-Iowa Conference post, Noreen Morrow. The season begins Friday, Nov. 18 when the Storm travel to the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Tip-Off Tournament.
