Women's basketball begins Gustavus Classic today

The Simpson women's basketball team travels to St. Peter, Minn. today for the Gustavus Classic.

The Storm (1-1) open play against Wis.-River Falls (2-0) on Friday at 4 p.m. and close Saturday against Wis.-Stout (0-1) at 1 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT - Simpson went 1-1  at the Lakeland Tip-Off Tournament last weekend, losing to Nebraska Wesleyan 60-57 on Friday and beating Lakeland 77-58 on Saturday. Senior point guard Maddie Bosworth earned a place on the all-tournament team after averaging a team-high 14 points. Sophomore post Noreen Morrow made a big impact in her first career starts, averaging 12 points and 9.5 rebounds. She recorded her first career double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds against Lakeland.

ALL-TIME vs. RIVER FALLS - The Falcons lead the all-time series 3-1. Simpson won the last meeting, 67-62 during the 2012-13 season.

ALL-TIME vs. STOUT - The all-time series is split 1-1 with both meetings coming in the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils beat Simpson 78-68 in the 2006 NCAA Tournament in Iowa and the Storm earned a 91-86 win in the first round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament in Wisconsin.
