IIAC Softball Tournament pushed back one day

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Iowa Conference Softball Tournament has been pushed back a day and will now take place Friday-Sunday, May 2-4 at Clark Field.

The six-team, double-elimination tournament was moved due to the high likelihood of inclement weather on Thursday, May 1. The winner of the tournament earns the conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division III Softball Championship.

At 25-13 overall and 10-4 in the Iowa Conference, the Storm finished the season in a three-way tie for second in the league standings. Luther (2) and Central (3) owned tiebreakers over Simpson, leaving the Storm with the No. 4 seed.

Simpson opens play Friday against fifth-seeded Dubuque at 10 a.m. The winner moves on to play top-seeded Coe at 2 p.m. while the loser will play in the first elimination game Saturday, May 3 at 10 a.m.
