Simpson sweeps first day of Finlandia Dome Tournament
MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Simpson softball team opened the 2014 season in style by going 4-0 on the first day of the Finlandia Dome Tournament at the Superior Dome on Saturday.
Simpson started the day with a 5-0 win over Concordia (Wis.), then beat Finlandia 7-6, Lakeland 8-7 and Mount Mary 15-0 (5 innings).
Box scores were not available for all games.
Simpson closes play on Sunday when it faces Marian (Wis.) at 7 a.m. and UW-Oshkosh at 8:45.
