Simpson splits with Ramapo, Millikin

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Simpson split play at the Rebel Spring Games on Thursday, losing to Ramapo 5-4 in game one before beating Millikin 7-3 in the nightcap.

Tieryn Potratz hit her 11th home run of the season in the Millikin game, going 3-for-3. Kacee Arey started both games, earning a win and a no-decision.

Ramapo 5, Simpson 4
Simpson carried a 4-2 lead into the sixth inning before Ramapo put up three in the sixth inning for the 5-4 win.

Potratz had two hits for the Storm. Arey went five innings in the start, scattering five hits and allowing two runs. Bryn Johnson took the loss, pitching the sixth innings.

Simpson 7, Millikin 3
Potratz went 3-for-3 with a home run and Simpson opened up a 4-3 game with three runs in the sixth for the 7-3 win.

Arey scattered six hits in her second start of the day, getting the win. Carissa Coopman went 2-for-3 with an RBI triple.

Simpson out-hit Millikin, 13-8.

Simpson finishes its trip to Florida with games against St. Benedict and Hood on Saturday.
