Leggett breaks into school record books at Midwest Elite Invite

WHITEWATER, Wis. - Cole Leggett etched his name in the school record book, earning the 10th fastest time in the 5000m race as Simpson sent three runners to compete at the Midwest Elite Invitational on Friday.

Leggett's time of 15:14.87 was nearly two seconds faster than the 10th-fastest time in school history and placed him 53rd overall in the event. Joining Leggett in the race was James Johnson who placed 67th overall with a time of 15:22.45 minutes.

On the women's side of the 5000m, Teghan Booth took home a seventh place finish with her time of 17:39.00 minutes in her first 5000m action of the indoor season.
