Robles Solis earns all-conference honorable mention nod

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Javier Robles Solis of the Simpson College men's tennis team earned a spot on the All-American Rivers Conference Honorable Mention team, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Robles Solis, a freshman from Los Cabos, Mexico, impressed in his debut campaign for the Storm. He is the first Simpson player to earn all-conference honors since Zach Kusick also received honorable mention honors in 2016.

The freshman played exclusively at the No. 2 position for the Storm in singles and played at both the No. 1 and No. 2 double spots. He compiled a 6-10 overall record in singles in his first season, including a 4-4 mark in conference play at the No. 2 spot.

Robles Solis ended his 2022-23 campaign by winning three of his final five singles matches, all in three sets. Robles Solis also garnered two other three-set wins on the year, while recording a straight set win in the win over Buena Vista in March.
