Storm men pick up trio of wins at A-R-C Individual Tournament

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Simpson men's tennis team garnered three wins from singles play over the two-day American Rivers Conference Individual Tournament this weekend.

Drake Downard kicked these things off for the Storm, defeating Nebraska Wesleyan's Jacob Myers 8-1 in the B Singles Preliminary round. Downard could not keep his momentum going however, falling in the next round to Luther's JP Rosaldo, who placed third overall.

Aaron Price defeated Connor Kelley, also from Nebraska Wesleyan, in the first round of the B Singles Draw, 8-2. Price was extremely close to advancing to the quarterfinals, but fell in the round of 16 in a tiebreak to Coe's Bode Carter.

Zachary Ambrose was the other Storm player to advance, defeating Dubuque's Josh Husemann via a walkover in the first round of the C Singles draw. Ambrose fell in the round of 16 to Central's Lucas Bloom.

The tournament concludes the men's fall season. They will return to action in February for team conference play.
