Kusick earns honorable mention all-conference honors

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Simpson's Zach Kusick earned an honorable mention nod to the All-Iowa Conference Men's Tennis Team for his efforts during the 2015-16 season, as selected by the league's coaches.

A senior from Westminster, Colo., Kusick came back from a season-ending injury as a junior to lead the Storm to 10 wins in 2016, the most by the program since 2004. Kusick went 12-9 as the Storm's No. 1 singles player, the most No. 1 wins since Luc Mbenoun won 13 in 2005. He went 12-11 with classmate Peter Rietgraf in doubles, including a 12-9 mark at No. 1 doubles.

Coe's Brady Anderson earned IIAC Player of the Year honors while Loras' Chad Fenwick was the IIAC Coach of the Year.

Kusick closes his career in the top ten in school history with 35 singles wins, going 35-31. He went 22-18 at No. 1 singles, including a 10-8 mark in 2014. Kusick earned IIAC Player of the Week honors on Feb. 21 after going a combined 6-0 in wins over Ripon, Bethany Lutheran and Martin Luther.
