Storm men go 2-1 on opening weekend

Peter Reitgraf posted a 3-0 mark in singles and four other Simpson men's tennis players went 2-1 as the Storm won 2 of 3 on their trip to Illinois to open the 2016 Spring season.

Simpson opened the weekend in Moline, Ill., losing to North Central (Ill.) 6-3 on Saturday morning before coming back with an 8-1 win over Knox in the nightcap. The Storm closed the weekend Sunday morning in Galesburg, posting an 8-1 win over Illinois College.

Reitgraf went 3-0 at No. 3 singles on the weekend, adding a 2-1 mark in doubles. Pierce Carey, Geoff Converse, Zach Kusick and Adam Wieser all went 2-1 in singles. Carey and Wieser teammed up to go 3-0 at No. 3 doubles.

Up next: Simpson travels to Cedar Rapids next Saturday, Feb. 13 to take on Cornell and IIAC foe Coe.
