Nelson wins two events in season-opener
INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Noah Nelson won the 100 breaststroke and the 200 IM to lead the Simpson men's swimming team in the 2018-19 season-opener against Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday at the Indianola YMCA.
The Prairie Wolves beat the Storm 143-50.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
A sophomore, Nelson won the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.10 and took the 200 IM in 2:00.54. His time in the 100 breaststroke was less than a second off his career-best and his 200 IM time was less than a second away from his school-record of 2:00.25 set on Nov. 11, 2017.
Outside of Nelson's victories, the Storm got second-place efforts from Ryan Gaumer (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle) and Sam Law (500 freestyle, 1000 freestyle). Nelson added a second-place effort in the 100 butterfly.
