Keller, Nelson lead Storm in sweep against Iowa Lakes, Midland

EMMETSBURG, Iowa — Nick Keller and Noah Nelson each picked up a pair of wins and the Simpson men's swimming and diving team defeated Iowa Lakes CC and Midland on Saturday, Jan. 13.

The Storm claimed victory over both Iowa Lakes (150-54) and Midland (142-87).

Nick Keller won the gold in the 50 freestyle clocking in at 22.84 and the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.42. Keller also placed second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:05.27.

Noah Nelson's pair of wins came from the 1650 freestyle and 200 IM. Nelson won the 1650 freestyle in a time of 17:24.38 while he triumphed in the 200 IM with a time of 2:01.90. Nelson also placed second in the 100 IM with a time of 56.84.

Austin Andes and Noah Bruns also picked up wins for the Storm. Andes won the 200 breastroke (2:47.68) and Bruns defeated the competition in the 100 freestyle, clocking in a time of 52.07.
