Swimming and diving teams collect academic award

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson swimming and diving program earned Scholar All-America Team accolades for the 2015 Spring semester, as announced by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) earlier this summer.

Both the men's and women's teams qualified for the honor for the second time in the 2014-15 academic year. The CSCAA presents the award to college and university swimming and diving teams who achieve a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the course of a semester.

The women's team posted a 3.26  GPA while the men registered a 3.23. The Storm women posted the No. 2 GPA in the Iowa Conference while the men were tops in the league. A record 406 schools received the award.

The Storm's season begins Oct. 31 at future IIAC foe, Nebraska Wesleyan.
