Swimming and diving teams achieve Scholar All-America status

INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Simpson swimming and diving teams proved that hard work is just as rewarding in the classroom as it is in the pool. Both the men's and women's teams earned Scholar All-America accolades from the College Swimming Coaches Association of American (CSCAA).

Both teams secured the honor for the past three years. To be eligible for the award, a team must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the fall semester. The women's team posted a 3.27 cumulative GPA while the men earned a 3.12.

Head coach Tom Caccia led the Storm to success in his second year with the teams. The teams set a combined 12 school records at the season-ending Liberal Arts Championships, highlighted by Tori Haag breaking a 13-year-old school record and Kyle McKim winning a second straight Iowa Conference championship. Haag broke the school record in the 200 IM and McKim took home the IIAC title in the 100 breaststroke for the second year in a row.
