Four second-half goals help Storm pull away from Westminster

FULTON, Mo. — Garrett Pochop had a pair of goals, three freshman scored their first career goals, and the Simpson men's soccer team started the weekend off with a 5-0 win over Westminster on Friday afternoon.

The trio of Garrett Pochop, Ian Dean and Enrique Idehen all put goals on the board in the last 15 minutes to help propel the Storm (5-0) to the shutout win.

Seth Bowman was the only player on either side to find the back of the net in the first half, scoring his first goal of the season in the 13th minute. Sam Stephens was credited with the assist.

The Blue Jays (1-3-1) struggled to put together any offense in the second half after the Storm came out and increased their lead to 2-0 in the 51st minute on a Pochop goal. While outshooting the Blue Jays 11-1, the Simpson offense continued with another Pochop goal in the 75th minute, and goals from rookies Ian Dean and Enrique Idehen in the final four minutes.
