ST. LOUIS - Louis Joslyn broke a scoreless tie just over one minute into the first overtime and the Simpson men's soccer team beat Fontbonne 1-0 on Tuesday.
Joslyn's golden goal gave the Storm (5-3) a much-needed result in a contest they controlled throughout.
Simpson outshot Fontbonne 20-6, held a 10-0 edge in shots on goal and took seven more corner kicks.
Joey Mirth made seven saves for the Griffins (1-6).
Joslyn's goal came on the third attempt after the Storm's 10th corner kick of the night. He now has three game-winners in Simpson's five victories.
Simpson closes its five-game road trip with a 3-2 record. The Storm return to Indianola on Friday, Sept. 19, when they "host" Illinois Wesleyan at Indianola Middle School. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
