MOUNT VERONON, Iowa – Mark Lahart scored two goals and assisted on another as Simpson rolled to a 5-1 win over Cornell on Wednesday.
On a wet, muddy day, Lahart scored the first goal of the game and assisted on the second as the Storm (11-6-1) scored four first-half goals.
Marcus Varnum, Tyler Neumann and Mitchell White added goals in the first half and Lahart tacked on the fifth goal just under two minutes into the second half. Spencer Cook assisted on two goals.
Luke Aronow made two saves in the first half and Zach McEntee made one in the second as the two split time in goal.
Joseph Callan found the back of the net 53rd minute for the Rams (0-13-1), who are still in search of their first win.
Simpson hosts fourth-ranked Loras (15-1-1, 5-0 Iowa Conference) on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the home finale. It will be senior night at Buxton Stadium.
