Wahman leads Storm men's golf at the Highland Championship
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Strong second round performances from Jack Wahman and Blake Perrin paced the Storm to a 15th place finish at the Highland Championship to open the 2024 season.
Wahman began the 2024 campaign off with a top-20 finish, leading Simpson on both days with a score of 75 and 73. Perrin shot 78 in the opening round before surging to a one-over par 73 to finish 35th overall. Simpson as a team finished with a score of 314-305-619, placing them 15th overall out of 21 teams.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wahman recorded four birdies over the two rounds, registering a team low of 75 in the opening round, and tied for the team low 73 for a total of 148.
- Perrin improved as each round went on, recording one birdie in the opening round, before carding three in the second, including going one-under par on the final back nine.
- Jacob Peterson finished third on the team with a final score of 158, dropping two strokes off his game in the second round.
- Jade Spangler and Jackson Tennis rounded out the scorecard, shooting 162 and 166 respectively.
