Hartman, Butler lead Storm to fifth place after day one at Wartburg
WAVERLY, Iowa - Nick Hartman's season low of 73 and Ben Butler's career low of 76 land the Storm to sit in fifth place after day one of the Wartburg Fall Invite on Friday.
Simpson shot a 311, a season low for the Storm, and placed fifth out of eight teams on the par-72, 6,614-yard layout at Prairie Links. Simpson sits four strokes behind Dubuque and Kirkwood leads with a score of 291, three strokes over par.
Hartman's season low of 73 tied him in fifth place with Buena Vista's Ryan Ruzek and Coe's Luke Winker. Butler carded a career low of 76 and is tied in 16th place. Kirkwood's JD Goodfellow leads with a 71, one stroke below par.
The Wartburg Fall Invite concludes on Saturday.
