Men’s golf ties for first in Livingston’s first tournament as head coach

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Freshman Andrew Lallier carded a 3-over 74 to lead the Simpson men's golf team to a tie for first place at the Loras Fall Invitational, head coach Justin Livingston's first competition at the helm.

Lallier placed second overall, a stroke behind medalist Lance Hawkins of Dubuque. The Storm shot 312 on the day, tying Coe. Host Loras finished five strokes behind the leaders.

In his first collegiate tournament, Lallier birdied the par-4 eighth and the par-5 ninth while limiting himself to five bogeys. Korbin Sesker had three birdies, shooting a 4-over 75 to tie for third in the 45-player field. 

Nick Hartman shot a 79 to tie for eighth, rounding out Simpson players in the top 10. Blake Bender and Cameron Stump tied for 22nd (84), Nick Baumhover and Ben Butler tied for 30th (86), Reid Cob tied for 34th (87) and Mitchell Brown tied for 36th (88).

Up next: The Storm go to the Mount Mercy Mustang Fall Classic at Hunter's Ridge Golf Course in Marion, Iowa on Saturday and Sunday.
