Lindenman named IIAC Golfer of the Week

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Simpson's Trent Lindenman closed the first weekend of the Iowa Conference Championship in a share for first place, earning IIAC Golfer of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, April 24, the league office announced Tuesday.

A senior from New Sharon, Iowa, Lindenman carded a 2-over 74 in Friday's first round before firing an even-par 72 Saturday at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. Lindenman shares the lead with Luther's Elliot Horst going into this weekend's final two rounds, set to be held at Oneota Golf and Country Club in Decorah.

Saturday's 72 is the lowest round by a Simpson golfer in the IIAC Championship since James Montgomery also shot a 72 back in 2010. 

The Storm are tied for fourth place as a team after posting a 36-hole score of 622. 

Lindenman wins the award for the first time this season and third time in his career.
