Lindenman leads men's golf at Webster

EUREKA, Mo. - Trent Lindenman's first-round 72 propelled him to a sixth-place finish and the Simpson men's golf team took seventh at the Webster Spring Invitational, which concluded Tuesday at Aberdeen Golf Club.

The Storm shot 326 Monday and 312 Tuesday to close the weekend with a 638 on the par-71, 6,914-yard layout at Aberdeen. 

Lindenman shot 78 in the second round to close the weekend 8-over, seven strokes off the pace set by Millikin's Blaine Buente. His 72 in the first round is his lowest since carding a 70 at the Simpson Invitational on Sept. 30, giving the senior his fifth top-10 finish of the season.

Nathan Molstead had a steady tournament, shooting 81 Monday and 80 Tuesday to tie for 30th with 161. Shaan Desai had the Storm's low round Tuesday, carding a 76 to finish in 36th place. 

Nick Hartman used a strong second round to tie for 37th (164) and Korbin Sesker shot 169 to tie for 49th. 

Simpson hosts its own Spring Invitational beginning this Sunday, April 17 at Otter Creek in Ankeny. The tournament concludes Monday at Indianola Country Club.
