Men's golf ties for fourth at shortened Wartburg Invitational

WAVERLY, Iowa - Trent Lindenman carded a 4-over 76 and the Simpson men's golf team tied for fourth place after shooting 311 at the shortened Wartburg Invitational on Saturday.

Originally scheduled for two rounds, the first day of the tournament was cancelled due to cold, windy conditions at Prairie Links Golf Club. 

Lindenman played steady throughout the day, making 12 pars with one birdie on the day to tie for 11th in the field of 48 golfers.

Shaan Desai and Korbin Sesker turned in identical scorecards, each shooting 6-over 78 ti tie for 16th. Nathan Molstead was one back at 79 and Nick Hartman rounded out the Storm's five with an 80. 

Wartburg's Michael Canfield won medalist honors with a 2-under 70, the only player under par on the day. The Knights won the team race by shooting 295, three ahead of second-place Kirkwood. 

Up next: Simpson has a day off before beginning play at the Webster Invitational in Eureka, Mo. on Monday. The two-day tournament will be contested at Aberdeen Golf Course.
