Strong second round powers men's golf at Midwest Region Classic

GREEN LAKE, Wis. - Trent Lindenman made six birdies on the weekend, leading the Simpson men's golf team to a tie for seventh of 31 teams at the Midwest Region Classic.

The Storm tied with Augustana, shooting 626 at the two-round tournament. The first 18 holes took place at the Links at Lawsonia and the final 18 were contested at the Woodlands at Lawsonia. Millikin won the tournament by four strokes over Edgewood, shooting 600 for the weekend.

Lindenman shot 73 on Friday and 74 Sunday, closing the tournament at 3-over 147. He tied Jarrett Simonson of Carthage.

Korbin Sesker cut four strokes from day one, carding a 76 Saturday to finish at 156 in a tie for 30th. Shaan Desai shot 159 to tie for 51st, Nathan Molstead shot 164 to tie for 80th and Blake Bender shot 171 to tie for 116th.

Simpson closes the fall season at its own invitational at Indianola Country Club on Wednesday.
