Lindenman wins Duhawk Invite, Storm place third

PEOSTA, Iowa - Trent Lindenman won medalist honors at the Duhawk Spring Invitational after firing a 2-under 69 in the final round, leading the Simpson men's golf team to a tie for third in the team standings.

Simpson shot 606 as a team at Thunder Hills Country Club, tying Dubuque for third place in the 14-team field. Central (582) won the tournament, followed by AIB (592) in second.

Lindenman made a tournament-high eight birdies en-route to his fourth win of the season. The junior - who earned Iowa Conference Golfer of the Week honors before the conclusion of the tournament - carries a 73.2 average in 13 rounds this season, the second-lowest in the Iowa Conference.

Lindenman shot a 1-under 70 in the first round, putting him one stroke behind first-place Adam Squires of Central. Squires faded with a 75 on Monday and Lindenman held off another Dutch golfer, Clay Corwin, who shot a 70 to finish with 141. Lindenman's 139 gave him a two-stroke edge.

Shaan Desai (78-77-155, t-23rd), Andy Hutchins (77-79-156, t-27th) and Nathan Molstead (79-77-156, t-27th) turned in top 30 finishes for the Storm in the field of 75 individuals.
