Lindenman named IIAC Golfer of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson men's golfer Trent Lindenman earned Iowa Conference Performer of the Week honors Monday after helping the Storm to a third-place finish at Wartburg and shooting a 1-under 70 in the first round of the Duhawk Spring Invitational.
A junior from New Sharon, Iowa, Lindenman went on to win the Duhawk Spring Invitational, but earned the weekly honor for the week ending Sunday, April 12 prior to the conclusion of the tournament.
Lindenman tied for 12th at the Wartburg Invitational, shooting 157 (77-80) at Centennial Oaks Golf Club in Waverly. He finished one stroke behind team-leader Andy Hutchins and tied with teammate Shaan Desai. Lindenman went on to fire a 1-under 70 in the first round Loras' Spring Invitational, held at Thunder Hills Country Club in Peosta.
The performer of the week honor is the second of Lindenman's career. His 73.2 average ranks second in the Iowa Conference in 2014-15 and, after Monday, he now has four wins on the season.
