Six named to NABC Honors Court

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Six members of the Simpson men's basketball team earned a spot on the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court for the 2017-18 season, the NABC announced Tuesday.

Senior Sam Amsbaugh and juniors Taylor Filbert, Cayce Good, Kam Hartung, Ben Rajewski and Tyler Stumbo all earned the award, which recognizes those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.

2017-18 NABC Honors Court

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet the following qualifications:

1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2017-18 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.

The Iowa Conference co-MVP, Amsbaugh lands on the NABC Honors Court for a second-straight year. Filbert, Good, Hartung, Rajewski and Stumbo are all first-time honorees.
