Vogel named IIAC Performer of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson wide receiver and kick returner, Brad Vogel, earned Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Football Offensive Performer of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 22.
A senior from Donnellson, Iowa, Vogel caught eight passes for 115 yards and a touchdown in the Storm's 35-34 win over UW-River Falls on Saturday, Sept. 21. His touchdown catch was a 76-yarder that gave Simpson a 29-28 lead in the fourth quarter. He also had a 34-yard kickoff return that allowed Simpson to start the eventual game-winning drive at its own 48-yard line.
The honor is the fourth of Vogel's career and second on offense.
Vogel currently ranks second in the Iowa Conference in receiving touchdowns (3) and receiving yards (273) and is fourth in receptions per game (6.7). He leads the league in both all-purpose yards per game (150.67) and yards per kickoff return (25.3).
The Storm (2-1) are off this week before beginning conference play on Oct. 5 at Wartburg.
