Richman homer propels Storm to win over Nebraska Wesleyan

LINCOLN, Neb. — Adam Richman hit a two-run homer as part of a three-run fourth, Curt Castenson led a solid outing by the pitching staff and the Simpson baseball team beat Nebraska Wesleyan 4-2 on Saturday, the final game of the three-game series.

Richman's long ball followed an RBI double by Luke Anctil as the Storm (5-13, 2-4 Iowa Conference) made the most of four hits on the day to salvage the final game of the series. Simpson tacked on another run due to an error -- Nebraska Wesleyan's sixth -- in the eighth to close the game.

Castenson (1-1) allowed just two runs -- both earned -- on seven hits, fanning three and walking two in 6 2/3 innings. Colson Frakes and Tanner Jansen finished the game out. Frakes held Nebraska Wesleyan to one hit in 1 1/3 innings and Jansen recorded the final three outs to earn the save.

Salvador Anguiano hit a two-RBI double in the seventh as the Prairie Wolves (10-12, 3-3) cut Simpson's lead to one. But Frakes fanned David Morris to end the inning and Nebraska Wesleyan didn't get a runner past second base in the final two innings.
