Barr named IIAC Player of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson baseball player Jake Barr earned Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) Position Player of the Week honors for the period ending Feb. 26, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Barr, a junior outfielder from Henderson, Nev., led Simpson in batting average (.467), slugging percentage (.867) and home runs (2) during three games at the Ozarks Baseball Classic in Clarksville, Ark. on Feb. 17-19. He was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and a home run in an 11-10 loss to Millsaps Feb. 18 and 3-for-6 with four RBIs, a home run, and two runs scored in a 13-10 loss to Westminster (Mo.).
