Simpson Cheerleading

Simpson Cheer is a competitive program that performs at all home football and basketball games. The team participates in the American Rivers Conference competition each year and is planning to move forward with performing in other outside competitions as well. Additionally, the team performs at Simpson's homecoming pep rally, "Yell Like Hell", and hosts clinics for children in the surrounding communities throughout the year. The cheer team is an extension of the athletic department and a chance for individuals to continue with the sport they love throughout their collegiate career.

2024-25 Simpson College Cheer Tryouts

Applications are being accepted for the 2024-25 Simpson College Cheer Team. Tryouts are being held in Cowles Fieldhouse on April 20, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Interested participants can CLICK HERE to fill out a tryout form or email Head Cheer Coach, Peyton Carolus at peyton.carolus@simpson.edu to submit a video tryout. 

Minimum Qualifications for Tryouts

Persons who wish to try out for the Simpson College Cheer Squad must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Current Simpson Students:
1. Hold an overall GPA of 1.8 or above.
2. Not be on disciplinary probation.
3. Possess sufficient physical fitness, strength and athletic skills to perform the activities associated with competitive and sideline cheerleading.
4. Carry health/hospitalization insurance.
5. Complete all required tryout forms.

Incoming Freshman & Transfer Students:
1. Be accepted to Simpson College.
2. Possess sufficient physical fitness, strength and athletic skills to perform the activities associated with competitive and sideline cheerleading.
3. If under the age of 18 at the time of tryouts, provide a parental permission slip in order to participate (CLICK HERE).
4. Carry health/hospitalization insurance.
5. Complete all required tryout forms.
