Bio

A talented, two-sport athlete, Casey Spree Wetjen made the most of her two-year career as a volleyball and basketball player at Simpson.

In volleyball, Wetjen earned first team all-conference honors in 2000 and 2001 while compiling 1,000 career kills and 1,359 career digs. She is one of just seven players in Simpson history to reach 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs, and the only individual to do so in less than four seasons. Wetjen’s 3.89 career kills per set are a school record and the 503 kills she accumulated as a senior in 2001 rank seventh in school history. She also holds Simpson’s record for digs in a match with 47.

On the basketball court, Wetjen took home first team all-conference honors in 2001 and second team honors in 2002. In her 55-game career, she averaged 11.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Her 185 rebounds led the team in 2000-01.

Originally from Parkersburg, Iowa, Wetjen graduated from Simpson in 2002 with a degree in Sports Administration.
